One of those issues was a clad half dollar produced at the San Francisco Mint with anniversary-themed designs. Certified 2025-S US Marine Corps 250th Anniversary Clad Coins are now available online at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
Each 2025-S US Marine Corps 250th Anniversary Clad Coin is housed in a protective slab. A Mint State 70 grade from the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation indicates the coin has full mint luster with no visible imperfections. The Early Release designation is used for coins submitted for grading within 30 days of their release by the mint.
Obverse
The obverse design of the 2025-S Marine Corps 250th Anniversary Clad Coin presents a Continental Marine alongside a present-day Marine. This side-by-side image highlights the long tradition of service within the Corps. As an expeditionary force, the Marine Corps is trained to respond quickly to developing situations around the world. The inscriptions here read 250 YEARS OF HONOR, COURAGE, AND COMMITMENT, LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, 1775-2025, and USMC.
Reverse
The reverse of the 2025-S US Marine Corps Clad Coin displays the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor symbol. This emblem represents the Marines worldwide presence and their ability to operate in multiple domains. The Corps is well known for its role in amphibious landings and coordinated military operations. Inscriptions here read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, HALF DOLLAR, and THE FEW, THE PROUD.
History
The Marine Corps was established on November 10, 1775, when the Second Continental Congress authorized two battalions of Marines. These Continental Marines were organized at Tun Tavern in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Samuel Nicholas was appointed as the first Commandant and helped lay the groundwork for the Corps future development.
