{{/presale}} {{#promotion_on}}The history of the United States Navy began on October 13, 1775, when the Continental Congress approved a small naval force to support the fight for independence. The early Continental Navy consisted of converted merchant ships tasked with interrupting British supply lines and contesting Royal Navy dominance along the coast. To honor the Navys 250th anniversary in October 2025, the United States Mint has issued a Proof Silver Eagle that includes a special US Navy privy mark. Right now, 2025-S Proof Navy Privy American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins are available at Provident Metals in certified condition.
Highlights:
Each 2025-S Proof Navy Privy American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin offered here is in near-perfect condition. PR69 coins display full, original mint luster with no more than two small imperfections. Any minor marks are limited to faint contact points or hairlines found outside the main focal areas. DCAM, or deep-cameo proof, refers to the frosted designs that contrast sharply against mirror-like fields. First Strike coins are those submitted for certification within 30 days of the mints release.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2025-S Proof Navy Privy American Eagle Silver Coins shows Walking Liberty beside the US Navy privy mark. Liberty strides left toward the rising sun, draped in the American flag. The Navy privy depicts a bald eagle facing forward and grasping an anchor. The inscriptions here include LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, 2025, the AW signature mark, and US NAVY inside the privy mark.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 2025-S Proof Navy Privy Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin, the American bald eagle appears in flight. Designed in 2020 by Emily Damstra, the artwork captures the eagle with outstretched wings and an oak branch held tightly in its talons. Inscriptions here include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, ONE DOLLAR, 1 OZ FINE SILVER, and the S mint mark.
History
The US Navy achieved its first victories during the Quasi-War with France (17981800), when American ships captured enemy privateers and secured trade routes. It further proved its strength during the First Barbary War (18011805), when Lieutenant Stephen Decatur led a daring raid to destroy the captured USS Philadelphia in Tripoli harbora mission celebrated for its boldness. These early successes established the Navys credibility and demonstrated the United States growing ability to project power overseas.
