{{/presale}} {{#promotion_on}}On October 13, 1775, the Continental Congress approved a small naval fleet to aid in the struggle for independence, marking the beginning of what would become the United States Navy. Using converted merchant ships, this early naval force aimed to disrupt British operations along the colonies and protect vital supply routes. To celebrate the Navys 250th anniversary in October 2025, the United States Mint has issued a Proof Silver Eagle featuring a special US Navy privy mark. Right now, certified 2025-S Proof Navy Privy American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins are available from Provident Metals.

Early Release coins were received by the grading company within 30 days of their release from the Mint.

History
During World War I, the US Navy played a vital role in escorting supply convoys across the Atlantic, protecting them from German submarines, and deploying a battleship group to assist the British Grand Fleet. The postwar years saw the introduction of the Washington (1922) and London (1930) Naval Treaties, which restricted battleship production but encouraged the Navys development of aircraft carriers and naval aviation. Despite limited funding during the Great Depression, the Navy continued to improve its technology and training as global tensions increased, especially in the Pacific.
