These 2025 Reverse Proof Mexican Libertad 2 oz Silver Coins come packaged in protective capsules. They were struck with a reverse proof finish by the Mexican Mint, offering collectors a different visual look than the standard BU or proof coins.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2025 Reverse Proof Mexican Libertad Silver Coin showcases Mexicos national coat of arms. This central image features a left-facing golden eagle gripping a snake with its beak and talon, perched on a cactus. Around this main seal are 10 smaller symbols that represent earlier versions of the nations coat of arms used throughout Mexican history. The inscriptions here include ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS.
Reverse
The reverse of the 2025 Reverse Proof Libertad 2 oz Silver Coin displays Winged Victory, a symbol of Mexicos struggle for independence. In this design, she is presented in three-quarter relief. She holds a laurel wreath in her extended right hand and a broken chain in her left. The background includes Mexicos famous volcanoes: Popocatpetl and Iztacchuatl. The inscriptions here read 2 ONZAS, PLATA PURA, 2025 LEY .999, and the Mo mint mark.
History
The Reverse Proof Silver Libertad first appeared in 2015, adding a new finish to the lineup. These coins differ from traditional proof coins by featuring mirrored design elements and frosted backgrounds. The reverse proof style is available in 5 oz, 2 oz, and 1 oz versions. In contrast, the Antique Silver Libertad was only issued in 2018 and 2019 and has not been offered since.
Across the board in 2025, the Mexican Mint has drastically limited the mintage of its Mexican Silver Libertads, while deciding against issuing any 2025 Mexican Gold Libertads. Mintages for all BU Silver Libertads, in particular, represent unprecedented lows in the program’s history, a factor that is sure to create rarity for this date in the future.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. Most Provident orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
