Design

The 2025 Republic of Chad Poseidon Trident Silver Coin celebrates this iconic weapon. The trident design features three pointed prongs and flowing patterns that reflect the power of water. Ancient art often shows Poseidon holding the trident as he rides sea creatures or commands the waves, with the three points symbolizing seas, rivers, and springs.

History

In Greek mythology, the trident was said to hold incredible powers. Poseidon could stir up storms, calm the waters, or even create springs and earthquakes with a single strike. The weapon was considered unstoppable, capable of both destruction and protection, depending on his will.
