By 1983, a 1 oz proof version joined the series, offering collectors a different finish on the same design. Starting in 1986, proof Silver Libertads became a regular annual release, and in the years since, the series has grown to include both smaller fractional sizes and larger options beyond the original 1 oz. Each 2025 Proof Mexican Libertad 1 oz Silver Coin here is a PR70-certified specimen, shipped in an individual plastic slab for protection. A PR70 grade means the coin shows its full original mint luster and no visible flaws.
Obverse
The obverse side of the 2025 Proof Mexican Libertad Silver Coin displays the modern national coat of arms of Mexico. This design includes a golden eagle clutching a serpent as it perches on a prickly pear cactus. On the 5 oz, 2 oz, and 1 oz versions, the main design is surrounded by 10 historical variations of the coat of arms, showcasing its artistic evolution. Inscriptions include ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS.
Reverse
On the reverse, the 2025 Proof Libertad 1 oz Silver Coin features the Winged Victory statue standing tall atop the Mexican Independence Victory Column. In the background, the volcanoes Popocatpetl and Iztacchuatl rise in the distance, adding a distinctive element of Mexican geography to the design. Inscriptions read 1 ONZA, PLATA PURA, 2025 LEY .999, and the mint mark.
History
The 2025 Silver Libertad lineup has several standout features. The Mexican Mint is not producing any 2025 Gold Libertads, and many silver releases from this year have record or near-record low mintages. The 1 oz Proof Silver Libertad is limited to only 500 coins, tying the record low mintage first set in 1998.

When the subtotal of your purchase, including applicable discounts, is $199 or more, you receive free shipping for your entire order. In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. All products are discreetly packaged and shipped with full insurance included.
Most Provident orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. Once payments are processed, products are released to fulfillment for packaging and shipping.
All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
