Obverse
The obverse of the 2025 Proof Congo Prehistoric Life Megalodon Gold Coin carries the coat of arms of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The design shows a leopards head above a rock tablet, with an elephant tusk rising on the left and a spear on the right. A beaded border and inscriptions fill the outer rim. The inscriptions read REPUBLIQUE DEMOCRATIQUE DU CONGO, 100 FRANCS, 0.5 G, AU 999.9, and JUSTICE PAIX TRAVAIL.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 2025 Proof Prehistoric Life Megalodon 1/2 Gram Gold Coin, the sharks immense size is highlighted as it prepares to take on a blue whale, the largest animal alive today. Megalodon first appears in fossils dating back about 23 million years and thrived for millions of years thanks to abundant marine prey and warm seas. History
Megalodon is thought to have reached 50 to 60 feet or even more in length, with teeth over seven inches longmuch larger than a great whites. Though it vanished nearly 3.6 million years ago, this shark remains one of the most fascinating prehistoric creatures, inspiring scientific research and popular imagination.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies.
