Obverse

The obverse of the 2025 Proof Canadian Lunar Year of the Snake Silver Coin presents a portrait of King Charles III. This marks the first time Charles III has appeared on Canadian coins, with the left-profile image created by Steven Rosati for the Royal Canadian Mint. The inscriptions include CHARLES III, D.G. REX, and 2025.

Reverse

On the reverse, the 2025 Proof Lunar Year of the Snake 1 oz Silver Coin displays a beautiful folk-art-inspired design by Jai Paek. It features a coiled snake surrounded by orchid flowers and branches, representing luck. The snakes body also forms the number 8, known as the luckiest number in Chinese culture. Inscriptions here include CANADA, 2025, and 15 DOLLARS.

History

The Snake in Chinese culture is often associated with intelligence, intuition, and grace. When combined with the nurturing and creative Wood element, the year 2025 is seen as a time for personal growth and spiritual exploration. This year may encourage individuals to focus on self-reflection and deeper understanding.
