The Marine Corps privy appears beside Liberty, displaying the eagle, globe, and anchor emblem adopted in 1868. The eagle symbolizes the United States, the globe represents worldwide service, and the anchor highlights the Marines naval heritage and long partnership with the US Navy. The inscriptions here include LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, 2025, and the AW signature mark.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 2025-P Proof Marine Corps Privy Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin, youll find Emily Damstras modern interpretation of the bald eagle. First introduced in 2020 and featured on the Silver Eagle series since 2021, it shows the eagle mid-flight, clutching an oak branch in its talons. Inscriptions here include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, ONE DOLLAR, 1 OZ FINE SILVER, and the P mint mark.
History
The Marine Corps history includes significant contributions during the Mexican-American War, such as the 1847 amphibious landing at Veracruzthe largest in U.S. history at that timeand the advance to Mexico City. The Marines capture of Chapultepec Castle in September 1847 opened the way to the capital and gave rise to the Halls of Montezuma line in the Marines Hymn.
