{{/presale}} {{#promotion_on}}Mexican Libertad coins are silver bullion pieces from the Mexican Mint, which holds the distinction of being the oldest mint in the Western Hemisphere. The Libertad Series began in the 1980s with both silver and gold versions and includes designs based on the historic 1921 Gold Centenario. Today, you can purchase 2025 Mexican Libertad 1 oz Silver Coins online from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
Each 2025 Mexican Libertad 1 oz Silver Coin comes in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The 1 oz silver coin is packaged in a plastic flip for protection. In 2025, the Mexican Mint reduced mintage levels for Mexican Silver Libertads across the board and decided not to strike any 2025 Mexican Gold Libertads. Among these changes, BU Silver Libertads stand out with the lowest mintages in the series to date, a shift that could drive future rarity for this release year.
Obverse
The obverse of 2025 Mexican Libertad Silver Coins displays the official coat of arms of Mexico. This emblem features a golden eagle clutching a snake while standing on a cactus. In the 1 oz and larger versions, this central image is surrounded by 10 earlier renditions of the seal from different periods in Mexican history. Inscriptions include ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS.
Reverse
On the reverse of 2025 Libertad 1 oz Silver Coins, youll see the modern portrait of Winged Victory as she appears on the Independence Victory Column in Mexico City. Introduced in 1996, this version captures her from a three-quarter angle, standing atop the monument. Inscriptions read 1 ONZA, PLATA PURA, 2025 LEY .999, and the Mo mint mark.
History
The reverse side of these coins highlights the image of Winged Victory. Known in Mexico as Libertad, she stands as a representation of the countrys continued journey toward freedom. This figure first rose to national importance in the 1800s, a time when Mexico was shaping its post-independence identity.
