In the Falkland Islands, Remembrance Day carries a special meaning because of the 1982 conflict between Britain and Argentina over control of the islands. Every year on November 11th, islanders gather at the Cross of Sacrifice in Stanley to honor those who died in both World Wars as well as the Falklands War.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2025 Falkland Islands Remembrance Day Silver Coin shows a left-profile portrait of King Charles III. In this depiction, His Majesty is shown without a crown. The use of the kings likeness reflects the close connection between the Falkland Islands and Britain, and it fits with the Remembrance Day events that highlight shared military history and national ties. Reverse

History
The coins artwork centers on the story of the Angel of Mons. This figure comes from a well-known legend in which British soldiers reported seeing a supernatural presence while retreating from Mons, Belgium, in August 1914. In the most familiar telling, ghostly bowmen from the Battle of Agincourt or angelic shapes in the sky appeared to watch over the British Expeditionary Force and help them escape German forces.
