The obverse of the 2025 Congo Prehistoric Life Megalodon Silver Coin features the coat of arms of the Democratic Republic of Congo. This design includes a leopards head above a stone tablet, with an elephant tusk on the left and a spear on the right. The border and inscriptions provide further details about the coin. Inscriptions include REPUBLIQUE DEMOCRATIQUE DU CONGO, 1 OZ AG 999.9, 20 FRANCS, and JUSTICE PAIX TRAVAIL.
Reverse
The reverse of 2025 Prehistoric Life Megalodon 1 oz Silver Coins shows the immense power of the megalodon in a scene where the shark is attacking a blue whale, todays largest living creature. Megalodon first appeared approximately 23 million years ago and thrived in warm waters filled with prey before its disappearance millions of years later. Inscriptions read PREHISTORIC LIFE, MEGALODON, 10.3-26 MIO YEARS BC, and 2025.
History
Megalodon flourished during the Miocene and Pliocene periods, when it preyed on large marine animals such as whales, dolphins, and seals. It lived across much of the worlds oceans in both coastal and open waters. Scientists believe megalodon became extinct about 3.6 million years ago as a result of cooler climates, reduced food supplies, shifting ocean conditions, and competition from early forms of great white sharks and orcas.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies.
