{{/presale}} {{#promotion_on}}Scottsdale Mint kicked off the Sea Life Series in 2018 to celebrate ocean wildlife native to the Cayman Islands. This collection features both gold and silver coins that spotlight creatures like the Marlin, Stingray, and Loggerhead Turtlespecies often seen in the Caribbean Sea. Today, Provident Metals offers the 2025 Cayman Islands Sea Life Stingray 1/10 oz Gold Coin.
Highlights:
Each 2025 Cayman Islands Sea Life Stingray 1/10 oz Gold Coin is packaged in an individual capsule for protection. This coin is the smallest gold option in the series and displays proof-like quality with frosted visuals and bright, reflective fields.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2025 Cayman Islands Sea Life Stingray Gold Coin carries the official coat of arms of the Cayman Islands. The emblem includes three stars symbolizing the territorys islands and waves that represent the surrounding Caribbean Sea. A turtle rests at the top of the crest, a nod to the territorys former name, Las Tortugas, given by early explorers due to the many turtles in the region. Inscriptions here read 2025, CAYMAN ISLANDS, 2 DOLLARS, and 1/10 TROY OZ 9999 FINE GOLD.
Reverse
The reverse of the 2025 Sea Life Stingray 1/10 oz Gold Coin showcases a stingray swimming through open water. These peaceful sea creatures are commonly spotted near the ocean floor, where they blend into sandy environments. Their diet typically includes small animals such as mollusks and worms. Though stingrays have venomous tails for protection, they are not aggressive and rarely pose a threat to people. The inscriptions here read CAYMAN ISLANDS and STINGRAY.
History
One of the most defining features of the Caribbean stingray is its long, thin tail. This tail can measure up to twice as long as its body and is armed with one or more venomous spines about halfway down. These barbs serve as a natural defense and point backward along the tail.
