{{/presale}} {{#promotion_on}}Based in Scottsdale, Arizona, the Scottsdale Mint has built a strong reputation in the precious metals industry for producing well-crafted bullion coins, rounds, and bars. The mint is appreciated for its reliable minting practices and for introducing designs that offer something different from standard bullion releases. Among its most recognized collections is the Barbados Trident Series, which continues to attract both collectors and investors. The 2025 Barbados Trident 1/10 oz Gold Coins are now available online from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
These 2025 Barbados Trident 1/10 oz Gold Coins are offered in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Coins are packaged in sealed individual capsules or on chipboards of five. Each coin includes the distinctive wave background pattern introduced for the 2025 release in the series.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2025 Barbados Trident Gold Coin features the official coat of arms of Barbados. This detailed design represents the nations heritage and natural surroundings. At the center is a shield displaying a bearded fig tree, a historic symbol connected to the islands name and early history. The shield is supported by a pelican on one side and a dolphin on the other, symbolizing local wildlife and the importance of the surrounding sea. Above the shield is a helmet framed by orchids, topped with a hand holding crossed sugar cane stalks, reflecting the islands agricultural past. The inscriptions include BARBADOS and 2025.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 2025 Trident 1/10 oz Gold Coin, the trident head serves as the focal point. The trident has long been associated with Barbados and originally appeared during the colonial era as part of a badge showing Britannia holding a trident. After independence, Barbados adopted the trident as a national symbol. The three prongs are often interpreted as representing democratic ideals that shape the countrys government. The inscriptions read .9999 FINE GOLD, ONE DOLLAR, and 1/10TH TROY OUNCE.
History
Historically, the trident has appeared in many cultures. In Hindu tradition, it is known as the trishula and is linked to the god Shiva, symbolizing creation, preservation, and destruction. In ancient Rome, gladiators called retiarii used tridents in combat. Over time, the trident became associated with naval forces and maritime authority, making it a long-standing symbol connected to strength and the sea.
