Built as a response to the Eiffel Towers popularity at the 1889 Paris Exposition, it became a highlight of the fair. This 2025 silver coin from Perth Mint features a miniature, rotating Ferris wheel in the center of the design. Each 2025 Antique Tuvalu Ferris Wheel 2 oz Silver Coin comes with a display case from the Perth Mint. The case includes a clear acrylic lid and is packaged inside a carnival-themed outer box. A Certificate of Authenticity is also included. The surface of the coin has been antiqued, and the Ferris wheel at the center is layered in 24-karat gold. Swarovski crystals can be seen when viewing the Ferris wheel from the reverse.
Obverse
On the obverse of the 2025 Antique Tuvalu Ferris Wheel Silver Coin, youll see a left-profile portrait of King Charles III. This side also features a ring of stars around the outer edge, along with the coins specifications and other inscriptions. The inscriptions here include KING CHARLES III, TUVALU, 2 DOLLARS, and 2 OZ 9999 AG.
Reverse
The reverse of the 2025 Antique Ferris Wheel 2 oz Silver Coin shows a colorful carnival scene surrounding the outer portion of the design. In the middle, the miniature Ferris wheel is fully functional and adds a unique, interactive detail to the coin. Inscriptions here include 2025.
History
The original Ferris wheel was a massive structure standing 264 feet tall with 36 cars, each capable of holding up to 60 people. At the time, it could transport more than 2,000 passengers and offered views across the Chicago fairgrounds. Since then, Ferris wheels have become permanent features in amusement parks and city skylines, now often featuring enclosed cabins and advanced lighting systems.
