The Early Release designation confirms that these coins were submitted for grading within 30 days of the official release, marking them as among the first available for this year.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2025 American Eagle Gold Coin shows the famous depiction of Lady Liberty by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. Lady Liberty is shown striding forward, holding a torch and an olive branch, symbols of enlightenment and peace. This design was originally created in 1907 and adorned the $20 Gold Double Eagle until 1933, making it one of the most celebrated images of liberty. The inscriptions read LIBERTY and 2025.
Reverse
On the reverse side, the 2025 Eagle 1 oz Gold Coin displays an image of a bald eagle in profile, designed by Jennie Norris in 2020. This eagle design replaced the original 1986 reverse, bringing a fresh portrayal of Americas national bird, a symbol of resilience and freedom, to the Gold Eagle series. Inscriptions here read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN GOD WE TRUST, E PLURIBUS UNUM, 1 OZ FINE GOLD, and 50 DOLLARS.
History
Though the bald eagle is widely respected as Americas national symbol, the choice was not without discussion. Benjamin Franklin famously suggested the wild turkey might be more appropriate, as he saw the eagles occasional scavenger habits as less admirable. Nevertheless, the bald eagles regal presence ultimately captured the nations vision of strength and independence.

When the subtotal of your purchase, including applicable discounts, is $199 or more, you receive free shipping for your entire order. In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies.
