The Liberty Bell has long represented freedom and the American spirit, and it now appears in an imaginative new silver coin design. Originally cast in 1752 by the Whitechapel Bell Foundry in London, the Liberty Bell was commissioned to mark the 50th anniversary of William Penns Charter of Privileges. It was intended for the Pennsylvania State House, today known as Independence Hall. Now, it takes on a new form as part of a 2025 collectible shaped like a classic slot machine. Provident Metals is proud to offer the 2025 Antique Samoa Liberty Bell Slot Machine 2 oz Silver Coin.

Obverse

The obverse side of the 2025 Antique Samoa Liberty Bell Slot Machine Silver Coin features the Liberty Bell alongside the official coat of arms of Samoa. While often thought to have rung during the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the Liberty Bells major historical moment was in the 1830s, when it became a prominent icon of the abolitionist movement. Its most famous crack, which silenced it, occurred in 1846 while tolling for George Washingtons birthday.

Reverse

The reverse of 2025 Antique Liberty Bell Slot Machine 2 oz Silver Coin shows the front of an early Liberty Bell slot machine. The three reels are aligned to show Liberty Bells in a winning configuration, and payout amounts for different combinations appear along the bottom edge of the design.

History

The Liberty Bell machine, invented by Charles Fey around 1895 in San Francisco, is considered the first modern slot machine. It featured mechanical reels that spun when a lever was pulled, with winning combinations producing automatic payouts. The bell icon gave the machine its name and quickly became a lasting symbol in gambling culture. Slot machines like this spread quickly to saloons and entertainment venues across the United States.
