Designs

The obverse of the $1 note features George Washingtons portrait, set amidst fine scrollwork and official seals from the Federal Reserve and Treasury Department. On the reverse, the Great Seal of the United States is displayed, with an unfinished pyramid topped by the Eye of Providence on one side and an American eagle on the other. The $1 bill design has stayed largely unchanged since 1963.

Thomas Jeffersons portrait is the focal point on the obverse of the $2 note, framed by geometric details and seals that mark its authenticity. The reverse features John Trumbulls famous Declaration of Independence, depicting the presentation of the draft Declaration to Congress, led by Jefferson himself.

History

During the Qing Dynasty, scholars in imperial China noted how many great thinkers and artists were born during Snake years, associating these years with academic excellence and artistic talent. This connection inspired special academic exams and cultural events in Snake years, and today, the Snake remains linked with intellectual and cultural achievements.
