{{/presale}}Introducing the famous Canadian Gold Maple Leaf a gold coin that people all around the world adore. This coin made history in 1979 because it was the very first gold coin with 24-karat gold that regular folks like you could invest in. At that time, there weren’t many options for buying gold, but this coin changed everything. In 2024, the Royal Canadian Mint celebrates its 45th birthday by offering a special set of four coins. Now, you have the chance to own the 2024 Reverse Proof Canadian 45th Anniversary Maple Leaf Gold 4-Coin Set, found on Provident Metals.
Highlights:
The 2024 Reverse Proof Canadian 45th Anniversary Maple Leaf Gold 4-Coin Set is truly unique. You’ll get four different Canadian Gold Maple Leaf coins: a 1 oz coin, a 1/4 oz coin, a 1/10 oz coin, and a 1/20 oz coin. They all come together in a neat red box from the Royal Canadian Mint. These coins are made with something called “reverse-proof,” which makes their designs mirrored and the background frosted.
Obverse
On the front of each 2024 Reverse Proof Canadian Gold Maple Leaf coin in this set, you’ll see a picture of Queen Elizabeth II when she was younger. She’s wearing a special crown called the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara. An artist named Arnold Machin made this picture in 1965, and it’s the second picture of the Queen that was used on coins during her time as queen. Here’s an interesting tidbit this picture was the last one made by a British artist for Canadian coins. Inscriptions include ELIZABETH II, D.G. REGINA, and the individual face values.
Reverse
On the back of the 2024 Reverse Proof Gold Maple Leaf coins, there’s a really cool design with two maple leaves connected by a stem. The 1 oz coin in this set has an interesting twist it has a sapphire on it that’s shaped like a teardrop. Oh, and don’t forget to check out the years 1979 and 2024 on the back. The inscriptions here read CANADA, 9999, 1979, 2024, and FINE GOLD OR PUR, with the individual weight included.
History
Back in 1979, when the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf first appeared, it was only in the 1 oz size, and it was made of super pure gold, like .999 gold. At that time, there was really only one other choice for people who wanted to invest in gold, and that was the South African Gold Krugerrand Coin. In this special set, you’ll find the original picture of Queen Elizabeth II on the front.
