Obverse

On the obverse of the 2024 Proof Colorized Fiji Jukebox Silver Coin, youll find the coat of arms of Fiji. Alongside the outline of a jukebox, the design focuses on the national seal, which features a shield with symbols of Fijian flora and fauna. The shield is flanked by native Fijians and topped with a traditional outrigger canoe. Inscriptions here include FIJI, 2024, 1 OZ 999 SILVER, and 2 DOLLARS.

Reverse

The reverse of the 2024 Proof Colorized Jukebox 1 oz Silver Coin offers a colorful depiction of a classic jukebox. These jukeboxes, known for their vibrant and engaging designs, became a staple in bars and diners. When 45 rpm records were introduced in the late 1940s, jukeboxes offered even more music variety, further cementing their place in pop culture.

History

When they first appeared, jukeboxes were automatic phonographs that played 78 rpm records. They soon became popular fixtures in gathering places, offering people access to diverse genres such as jazz, blues, and early rock and roll. The 1940s and 1950s marked the “Golden Age” of the jukebox, with well-known manufacturers like Wurlitzer and Seeburg crafting elaborate designs with lights and moving parts.
