Mexican Silver Libertad coins have been a staple of the bullion market since their introduction in 1982. Starting with a 1 oz coin, the series grew over the years, especially in the 1990s when smaller fractional sizes, like the 1/4 oz silver coin, were added. Provident Metals is proud to offer the 2024 Mexican Libertad 1/4 oz Silver Coin.

Highlights:

  • Arrives in an individual plastic flip!
  • 34th issue of the 1/4 oz Silver Libertad Coin!
  • Contains 1/4 Troy oz of .999 pure silver in BU condition.
  • Obverse displays the national coat of arms.
  • Reverse features the statue of Winged Victory.

Provident Metals offers the 2024 Mexican Libertad 1/4 oz Silver Coin in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, housed in a protective plastic flip. The 2021 release of this coin had the lowest mintage in the series, with just 3,250 coins produced, while the 2023 release saw an increase to 30,000 coins.

Obverse

The obverse of the 2024 Mexican Libertad Silver Coin depicts Mexicos national coat of arms, featuring a golden eagle in left-profile view, gripping a snake while perched on a prickly pear cactus. This powerful symbol is rooted in Aztec legend and represents the origins of the Aztec capital. Inscriptions include ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS.

Reverse

On the reverse of 2024 Libertad 1/4 oz Silver Coins, youll find Winged Victory, the iconic statue from the Mexican Independence Victory Column. She is shown holding a laurel wreath in one hand and broken chains in the other, symbolizing the triumph of independence. The inscriptions include 1/4 ONZA, PLATA PURA, 2024 LEY .999, and the mint mark.

History

In 1991, the Mexican Mint expanded the Libertad series by introducing four fractional-ounce coins, including the 1/4 oz coin. The initial mintage of the 1/4 oz coin was 50,017, with the highest mintage recorded in 1992, a common feature across all fractional sizes in the series.
