History
Since its inception in 1996, the famous Perth Mint Lunar Series has celebrated the revered animals of the ancient Chinese zodiac across annual releases. After initially featuring the designs in gold only, silver compositions made their debut in 1999. Upon completing Series I in 2007 with the Year of the Pig, Series II was introduced in 2008 showcasing new reverse artistry for each annual issue. The current Lunar Series III program launched in 2020, offering fresh designs and multiple unique finishes year after year.
