On the reverse, a captivating blue dragon takes center stage. This mythical creature is depicted in flight, chasing a flaming pearl on the left side of the coin. Below the pearl, you’ll find inscriptions noting the year of issue and the traditional Chinese character for the dragon. History

Did you know that the dragon is the fifth animal in the Chinese zodiac and the only mythical creature among the 12? Legend has it that the Jade Emperor organized a race across a rapid river to determine the order of the zodiac animals. The dragon’s fifth-place finish secured its position in this ancient tradition.
