{{/presale}}Uncover the allure of the Australian Kangaroo, a standout in the realm of silver bullion! This exceptional coin, a part of the Australian Silver Kangaroo Series, has been captivating collectors since its inception in 2016. Diverging from other popular coins like the Kookaburra or Koala, the Silver Kangaroo adheres to a consistent design each year. Now, seize the opportunity to own the 2024 Australian Kangaroo 1 oz Silver Coin, featuring a brand-new bust of His Majesty King Charles III, available for purchase online at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
The reverse design of the Australian Kangaroo Silver Series pays homage to a historic copper penny from Australias past, featuring a kangaroo design that graced Australian pennies from 1938 to 1964. In 1966, Australia transitioned from the pound system to decimal currency. The introduction of the Australian dollar meant the end of the penny as a unit of currency. The kangaroo penny ceased to circulate, becoming a historical artifact.
Obverse
On the obverse of the 2024 Kangaroo 1 oz Silver Coin, you’ll discover a fresh portrait of His Majesty. Charles III is elegantly depicted in left-profile relief, wearing a suit and notably without a crown on his head. This choice aligns with the tradition of alternating the orientation of monarch portraits, following his mothers right-profile portraits during her reign. Inscriptions read CHARLES III, AUSTRALIA, and 1 DOLLAR.
Reverse
Turning to the reverse design of the 2024 Australian Kangaroo Silver Coin, you’ll find the iconic image of a kangaroo leaping in left-profile relief, surrounded by stylized sun rays in the background. The inscriptions on this side include AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO, 2024, and 1 OZ 9999 SILVER.
History
In 2024, the coin becomes one of the last major bullion coins at Perth Mint to showcase the first-ever bust of His Majesty King Charles III on its obverse, skillfully crafted by Daniel Thorne.
