Obverse

The iconic Walking Liberty graces the obverse of the 2024 American Eagle Gold Coin, created by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. This popular design, first used in 1907, showcases Liberty walking to the viewer while holding a torch and an olive branch. Inscriptions read LIBERTY, 2024, and W.

Reverse

Jennie Norris’ striking bald eagle portrait adorns the reverse side of the 2024 American Eagle 1/4 oz Coin. Unveiled in 2021, it displays a close-up portrait of a bald eagle in left-profile relief. Inscriptions include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, IN GOD WE TRUST, RG, JN, 10 DOLLARS, and 1/4 OZ FINE GOLD.

History

Since their inaugural appearance in 1986, American Eagle Gold Coins have captivated collectors and investors alike. Notably, the transition from Roman to Arabic numerals in 1992 and the recent 2021 reverse design update have added to their allure. Nonetheless, these coins have remained largely the same since their release nearly 40 years ago.
