Coin Highlights:
When you order 2023 Niue Triangle Rectangular 1 Kilo Coins in this Provident Metals listing online, they will arrive to you in brand-new condition. Based on their shape, it might seem that this product is a bar rather than a coin. However, because they are backed monetarily by Niue Island, they have earned the status of a coin. Each piece was struck in .9999 pure silver at Pressburg Mint, a cutting-edge precious metals company based in Slovakia. The coins will arrive to you in protective plastic packaging.
Design
On the obverse of 2023 Triangle Rectangular 1 Kilo Silver Coins, you will find the Penrose triangle. This iconic optical illusion was originally designed in 1934 by an artist from Sweden named Oscar Reutersvrd. Then in the 1950s, renowned mathematician Roger Penrose and his father Lionel produced their own version of the illusion, which brought it significant popular attention. The obverse also contains the Pressburg Mint logo, the coins verification number, and inscriptions reading 1 KG FINE SILVER .9999, PRESSBURG MINT. The reverse is blank.
History
Bratislava, formerly known as Pressburg, has a minting history dating back to 50 BC when Celtic tribes produced coins in the general region. By 997 AD, the city had formed its first official mints. Then in 1430, Pressburg received minting rights from the Holy Roman Emperor and Pressburg became the financial center of the Austro-Hungarian empire until the 18th century. For the next few centuries, the city lost its reputation as a minting hub until 2015, when the privately-owned Pressburg Mint was established.
