{{/presale}}After a century-long absence from American currency, two of the nations most cherished historic coin designs made a splendid return in 2021. To honor the centennial of the first-ever Peace Dollar and the last-ever Morgan Dollar, the US Mint reintroduced these iconic designs on silver bullion coins. Following a brief hiatus in 2022, these beloved designs have once again graced us in 2023. Explore the 2023 Morgan & Peace Dollar Silver 2-Coin Sets in impeccable condition, available now at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
Each 2023 Morgan & Peace Dollar Silver 2-Coin Set from Provident Metals arrives with coins individually housed in plastic slabs. Mint State 70 coins exhibit full, original mint luster with no detractions. The First Strike designation signifies coins graded by the PCGS within 30 days of the mint’s release.
Obverse
On the obverse of the 2023 Morgan and Peace Dollar Set, discover two distinct images of Liberty. The Morgan Dollar features a classic left-profile relief of Liberty with the coronet crown, laurel wreath, and Phrygian cap on her head. The Peace Dollar showcases a more contemporary image, capturing Liberty with free-flowing hair and a crown of light.
Reverse
Turning to the reverse, the 2023 Morgan and Peace Dollar Silver Coins present two different images of the American bald eagle. The Morgan Dollar features the bald eagle as part of the heraldic eagle seal, while the Peace Dollar depicts a bald eagle at rest on a rock with the sun rising on the edge of the coin field.
History
Historically, the Morgan Dollar had a more extended run than the Peace Dollar. The former was issued from 1878 to 1904 and again in 1921 when the US Mint resumed silver dollar coining. The latter was issued from 1921 to 1928 and then again in 1934 and 1935.
