Obverse

The obverse of the 2023 Cook Islands Pan Gold Coin features the profile of Queen Elizabeth II, a regal depiction enhanced by the elegant Girls of Great Britain and Ireland diamond tiara. Created by Ian Rank-Broadley, this effigy is surrounded by distinct marks that authenticate the coin’s origin. Inscriptions read 5 DOLLARS, COOK ISLANDS, 2023, IRB, and ELIZABETH II.

Reverse

On the reverse side, the 2023 Cook Islands Pan 1/2 Gram Coin brings Pan to life in intricate detail. The god of the wild is masterfully portrayed in right-profile relief, with spades adorning his flowing hair. Dominating the design field, Pan’s presence is truly captivating.

History

Designed by CIT, the Ancient Greece collection is a tribute to the rich history of this extraordinary civilization. The series debuted with six unique coins in 2022. So far in 2023, three coins have been added to this series such as the Wine Grapes Coin, Honey Bee Coin, and this Pan Coin.
