History
The Native American tribes of Maine consist of the Maliseet, Micmac, Penobscot, and Passamaquoddy. Together, they form the Wabanaki confederacy, which has a history dating back over 12,000 years. Today, you can find these tribes scattered throughout the state, where they proudly preserve their history, heritage, and culture.
