{{/presale}}The British Britannia Platinum Series debuted in 2018 as the third option for investors in this Royal Mint Series. Unlike its predecessors, the platinum coin had originally featured only the fifth-generation bust of Queen Elizabeth II on its obverse field. With the Queens passing in September 2022, the platinum coin gets its first new obverse design as all coins in the series shift to the new King Charles III obverse. Provident Metals currently has the 2023 British Britannia 1 oz Platinum Coin available to you for purchase online.
Highlights:
When you purchase one of these 2023 British Britannia 1 oz Platinum Coins online at Provident Metals, you will receive a coin that is in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. These coins will ship inside individual flips, protective tubes of 5 to 10 coins, or boxes of 100 coins. The box contains 10 tubes of 10 coins each.
Obverse
The obverse side of the 2023 British Britannia Platinum Coin comes with the new portrait of King Charles III. His Majesty is shown here in left-profile relief in the first coinage portrait of his reign. The design was created by Martin Jennings. Inscriptions include 100 POUNDS, CHARLES III, and D.G. REX F.D.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 2023 Britannia 1 oz Platinum Coin, you will find Britannia. The allegorical figure is shown standing in defense of the coast with a trident in her right hand and a shield in her left. Inscriptions include BRITANNIA, 2023, 1 OZ, and 999.5 PLATINUM.
History
The British Britannia bullion series started in 1987 with gold bullion coins bearing a depiction of Britannia from Philip Nathan. This design remains in use today on the gold coins and also features on the silver coins, introduced in 1997, and the platinum coins, introduced in 2018 with 1 oz and 1/10 oz weights.
