Austrian Philharmonic Coins all bear the same designs. Thomas Pesendorfer, the Chief Engraver of the Austrian Mint, created the visuals of the Great Pipe Organ and the cluster of musical instruments in 1989. The designs debuted on gold bullion coins before also being used on silver and platinum bullion coins.
Obverse
On the obverse side of 2023 Philharmonic 1 oz Silver Coins, you will find the image of the Great Pipe Organ in the Musikverein. This design shows the massive pipe organ inside the halls of the Musikverein is the third such organ to grace its halls since the building was completed in the 1870s. Inscriptions on this side read REPUBLIK OSTERREICH, 1 UNZE FEINSILBER, 2023, and 1.50 EURO.
Reverse
The reverse field of the 2023 Austrian Philharmonic Silver Coin comes with a cluster of eight musical instruments. This design includes a cello in the middle, two violins on either side, a bassoon, a harp, and a horn in the background. Inscriptions on this side include WIENER PHILHARMONIKER.
History
Austrian Philharmonic Silver Coins jumped to a hot start out of the gate, selling 7.77 million coins in 2008. The program hit its all-time high, to date, in 2011 with 17.87 million coins sold. More recently, it saw sales more than double from 2.9 million in 2019 to 7.193 million in 2020.

2023 Austrian Philharmonic 1 oz Silver Coins are available to you individually in flips. Multiples come in protective tubes of 20 coins or Monster Boxes of 500 coins, with 25 tubes of 20 coins in the box. All coins are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
