Obverse
The obverse of the 2023 Antique Barbados Boston Tea Party Silver Coin showcases the coat of arms of Barbados, featuring a fig tree flanked by two native flowers on a spade-shaped shield. The shield is supported by the Dolphin Fish and a Pelican, with a hand rising above holding sugar cane. Inscriptions read BARBADOS, 250 G, 10 DOLLARS, and AG 999.
Reverse
On the reverse, you’ll find a compelling depiction of the events of the Boston Tea Party. The central image shows a ship anchored in the harbor, with colonists disguised as Mohawk natives tossing tea crates overboard. History
The Boston Tea Party helped to unify the American colonies. Colonists from other regions expressed solidarity with Massachusetts, as they viewed the British actions as a threat to all of them. This unity eventually led to the convening of the First Continental Congress in 1774 and further steps toward independence.
