Highlights:
These coins were created by the Pressburg Mint. This mint is located in Bratislava, also called Pressburg, which is the capital city of Slovakia. This mint is adding a modern twist to centuries-old minting traditions from the region.
These coins are part of a larger series based around science and mathematics, the language of nature. The Golden Ratio was a mystery to scientists for centuries, but when it kept appearing everywhere, including seashells and galaxies, scientists pushed onward to solve the mystery. Today, you can celebrate the Golden Ratio with this unique coin.
Obverse
The obverse features the image of Queen Elizabeth II, which was designed in 1997 by Ian Rank-Broadly. This effigy of the Queen was created in 1997 for use from 1998 on. It was meant to be used on coins made at the Royal Mint and for other Commonwealth countries. As the fourth iteration of Her Majesty, it shows her in her late 60s to early 70s. Opposite of the Queen, you will see curved spheres filled with different patterns. The background also showcases stylized pinwheel shapes, and there is a shadow behind the main design elements.
Reverse
On the reverse, you will find three rotating rectangles. Each is filled with various shapes and designs. The background is the same as the background featured on the obverse.
