{{/presale}}The familiar phrases “bull” and “bear” market, long a fixture of financial jargon, are commemorated by the symbolic imagery of this coin. Featuring majestic portraits of a bull and a bear, the 2022 Tokelau Bull and Bear 1 oz Silver Silver Coin is sure to be a popular item with collectors and investors and is now available for purchase from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
The 2022 Silver Tokelau Bull and Bear Coin, the second issue of its kind, is available in Brilliant Uncirculated form. The quality of its original striking is preserved in its flawless finish, and it will be sure to delight dedicated collectors of truly unusual coins. Provident Metals ships these items in individual flips or tubes of twenty. We fully insure those shipments in the rare circumstance of damage or loss.
Obverse
A bull and a bear rampage on the coin’s obverse side, appearing to be in battle with the bear’s claws reaching out and the bull preparing to charge. This side also shows the coin’s purity, weight, and Bulmint mint mark.
Reverse
The portrait of Queen Elizabeth II carried on the coin’s reverse side is familiar from the coinage of many Commonwealth countries and was designed by Ian Rank-Broadley. The reverse side bears the inscriptions “Queen Elizabeth II,” “5 Dollars,” and “Tokelau.”
History
The symbology of the coin is tied to a representation of the global financial market: a “bull” market is one in which stock values are rising, much like the upward-curving horns of the bull, while a “bear” market is one where stock values are falling like the descending claws of that predator. Issued on behalf of the tiny island dependency of Tokelau, which has recently accomplished extraordinary feats in joining the global economy — such as becoming the first fully solar-powered nation in the world — the coin celebrates those achievements and a new era of financial engagement coming with them.
