{{/presale}}South African Krugerrands are far from the newest coins in the bullion market. In fact, this coin program was the first of its kind for precious metals investors when the gold bullion coin debuted in 2017. However, the silver bullion version of the South African Krugerrand is one of the newest coins in the market as it was introduced 50 years after its gold counterpart, debuting in 2017. Today, you have the chance to purchase 2022 South African Krugerrand 1 oz Silver Coins online from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
South African Krugerrand Coins consist of a variety of gold and silver coin options. Both the gold and silver programs have BU and proof specimens available, with unique weights such as 2 oz available in both proof ranges. The gold BU coins have 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz gold options as the main choices for investors, while the silver BU program has only the 1 oz coin.
Obverse
On the obverse of 2022 South African Krugerrand Silver Coins is a portrait of Paul Kruger. A prominent Boer figure in 19th-century South Africa, he was elected President of the South African Republic in the late 19th century and finished out his term in exile in Europe as British pressure and control increased in the region. Krugers portrait includes inscriptions of SUID-AFRIKA and SOUTH AFRICA.
Reverse
The reverse side of the 2022 Krugerrand 1 oz Silver Coin features the Springbok antelope. A native species across the southern nations of the African continent, the Springbok has featured on Krugerrand coins since 1967. The inscriptions on this side include KRUGERRAND, 2022, and FYNSILWER 1 OZ FINE SILVER R1.
History
South African Krugerrand 1 oz Silver Coins have the same obverse and reverse designs as the gold bullion coins. These historic designs were created in the 1890s and 1930s, respectively. The bust of Kruger debuted in the 1890s on the denominations of the South African Pound, while the Springbok first appeared on South African coins in the 1930s.
