{{/presale}}The Australias Most Dangerous Series from the Royal Australian Mint offers a caution to all those who might travel through Australia. The coins in this series feature images of some of the deadliest creatures to inhabit the continent. Debuting in 2020 with the release of the Redback Spider, the series continues with its third issue in 2022. Today, you have the opportunity to get 2022 Royal Australian Mint Desert Scorpion 1 oz Silver Coins online from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
The desert scorpion is officially known as the Urodacus yaschenkoi and it inhabits the arid deserts found throughout central Australia. This scorpion species is one of the largest on the Australian continent, with males reaching lengths in excess of 100 mm from the mouth to the tip of the stinger.
Obverse
On the obverse of 2022 Royal Australian Mint Desert Scorpion 1 oz Silver Coins is an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is shown here in right-profile relief wearing the George IV State Diadem Crown. In this design, the Queen is captured at the age of 89. Jody Clark originally developed this design in 2015 for the Royal Mint and debuted at the Royal Australian Mint in 2018. The inscriptions on this face of the coin include ELIZABETH II, AUSTRALIA, 2022, and 1 DOLLAR.
Reverse
The reverse side of the 2022 RAM Desert Scorpion Silver Coin comes with a depiction of the namesake creature. The desert scorpion is not only one of the largest species of scorpions on the Australian continent, but it also has a unique physical feature. These scorpions glow when exposed to ultraviolet light. This physical characteristic allows them to be easily spotted in the field by scientists.
History
The Australias Most Dangerous Series was introduced by the Royal Australian Mint in 2020. The first design in the collection was the Redback Spider. In the second release of the collection, the 2021 Great White Shark coin was released by the mint. The Desert Scorpion is the third issue in the series.
