{{/presale}}Following the successful launch of the Iberian Lynx, the Royal Spanish Mint is now offering this incredible coin in a 1/10 oz version. The Lynx was introduced as the first coin in what Spain hopes will be an extensive program featuring yearly releases. Whether you are a fan of the Lynx or simply enjoy collecting annually released coins, this remarkable specimen could be a perfect option for you. Provident Metals now has 2022 Proof Royal Spanish Mint Iberian Lynx 1/10 oz Gold Coins available to purchase online.
Coin Highlights:
Each 2022 Royal Spanish Mint Iberian Lynx 1/10 oz Coin is made from genuine .9999 pure gold and is recognized as legal tender by the government of Spain. These coins are also notable for their proof visuals, which lends the fields a mirrored effect and the devices a frosty appearance. Upon arrival, you will find your coin in protective capsules.
Obverse
On the obverse side of 2022 Proof Royal Spanish Mint Iberian Lynx Gold Coins, youll see the Pillars of Hercules. This design is part of a Spanish currency tradition and includes the countrys motto of PLUS ULTRA, meaning Further Beyond. Stationed between these majestic pillars are two crowned globes, meant to represent the union of two hemispheres. Youll also find inscriptions on the obverse field that read FELIPE VI REY DE ESPANA, 1/10 ONZA 999.9 ORO.
Reverse
The reverse face of 2022 Proof Royal Spanish Mint 1/10 oz Gold Coins features an Iberian Lynx. This design is intended to be the new staple reverse image for this coin program. It offers a close-up glimpse of the Lynx as it looks off into the distance. You will also find inscriptions on the reverse that read 15 EURO CENT, 2022, LINCE IBERICO.
History
Though endangered, the Iberian Lynx is showing steady signs of growth across the Iberian Peninsula. Just over 1000 of these spotted wild cats exist today, and while that number is low, it is a vast improvement over the 94 that existed in 2002. One reason their population has suffered is due to the plight of the European rabbit, which the Lynx relies on heavily for its diet. Thanks to conservation efforts that include replenishing the rabbit supply, the Lynx now at least has hope for a brighter future.
