{{/presale}}Roger Moore was already well-known for playing charming action heroes on television during the Sixties when he was first considered for the iconic big-screen role of James Bond. Among other parts, he was particularly noted for turns as Simon “The Saint” Templar and Beauregard Maverick in long-running shows that firmly established his charisma and his connection with audiences. He debuted as Agent 007 in 1973’s Live and Let Die,and went on to helm seven Bond films in total, facing off with ever-more-outlandish villains and even battling evil in space inMoonraker, before handing over the mantle. The Perth Mint celebrates his run with the 2022 Proof Colorized James Bond Legacy Roger Moore 1oz Silver Coin.

History
Created by author Ian Fleming based on his own real-life adventures in the British intelligence services during World War 2, James Bond was in many ways one of the most powerfully archetypal action heroes of the Twentieth Century, achieving particular success in twenty-five outings on the silver screen. The Perth Mint’s James Bond Legacy is focused on celebrating the particular qualities that each of the six actors who portrayed him over the years brought to the iconic role. Roger Moore, the third actor to play the debonair super-spy, delivered him with both debonair charm and a lethal sense of humor, and currently hold the record for most screen outings as 007.
