History
Jane Seymour became Queen and Consort to King Henry VIII as his third wife during his reign as King of England. Jane was gifted the panther for her arms and badges, but the move was a hasty one. Henry VIIIs previous wife, Anne Boleyn, had used a leopard in her arms and badges. As Henry VIII destroyed or replaced the arms and badges of his recently executed Queen, he quickly flipped the leopard to a panther for Jane Seymours use.
