Obverse
On the obverse side of 2022 Proof Australian Lunar Tiger Opal Silver Coins is an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is shown here in right-profile relief in a 2015 design from Jody Clark. Originally designed for the Royal Mint of England, this image came to Australian coins in 2018. It is the sixth-generation portrait of the Queen for Australian coins and shows Her Majesty at the age of 89 wearing the George IV State Diadem. The inscriptions on this field of the coin read ELIZABETH II, AUSTRALIA, and 1 DOLLAR.
Reverse
The reverse field of the 2022 Proof Lunar Tiger Opal 1 oz Silver Coin comes with an image of a tiger. This unique release in the Lunar Series III collection features an authentic Australian opal in the shape of a tiger at the center of the design field. The inscriptions on this side include the Chinese character for the tiger, YEAR OF THE TIGER, and the P mint mark of Perth Mint.
History
The Opal Tiger release is the latest Proof Opal Silver Coin in the Lunar Series III program. Each one features an authentic Australian opal in the shape of the animal appearing in the Zodiac in a given year. This years design includes a border of cineraia flowers, a flower that is considered lucky for those born in the Year of the Tiger.

When the subtotal of your purchase, including applicable discounts, is $199 or more, you receive free shipping for your entire order. In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. Most Provident orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
