{{/presale}}The American Eagle Platinum Coins debuted in 1997 with BU and Proof specimens available to investors and collectors. The Proof American Eagle Platinum Coin is the only major bullion coin from the United States Mint with new design elements on one side or the other each year. The Proof American Eagle 1 oz Platinum Coin is also the only coin in the series that has been issued every year since 1997. Today, you can purchase 2022-W Proof American Eagle 1 oz Platinum Coins online at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
The Proof American Eagle Platinum Coin has gone through several coin design programs within the broader series. The first year and the 20th-anniversary year in 2017 featured the same design used on the BU versions of the coin. Other programs include the Vistas of Liberty Series, the Foundations of Democracy Series, the Preamble to the Constitution Series, the Torches of Liberty Series, and the Preamble to the Declaration of Independence Series.
Obverse
On the obverse side of the 2022-W Proof American Eagle Platinum Coins is a depiction of a blossoming oak tree. This series focuses on the growth of an oak tree as a symbol for the growth of America. The foundations of this country are rooted in the First Amendment and the freedoms it enshrines. Like the mighty oak, these foundations run deep and have allowed our country to blossom. Inscriptions on this face include WITH FREEDOM OF SPEECH, IN GOD WE TRUST, E PLURIBUS UNUM, LIBERTY BLOSSOMS, and 2022.
Reverse
The reverse field of 2022-W Proof American Eagle 1 oz Platinum Coins comes with a common design now used as of 2018. The design features a bald eagle swooping into view with a large olive branch in its talons. The inscriptions on this side of the coin read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, $100, 1 OZ., .9995, and PLATINUM.
History
The latest design series in the Proof American Eagle Platinum Series is known as the First Amendment to the United States Constitution. The series follows the growth of an oak tree from seed to mature tree as an allegory for the founding and growth of our country.
