{{/presale}}The nature of evil has always been a part of the stories of theStar Warsuniverse, which often serves up vividly convincing and chilling villains alongside its flashy effects and roaring action sequences. The original trilogy of films and their prequels explored the rise of the evil Galactic Emperor. The films of the sequel trilogy explored the resurgence of fascism a generation after its fall. Gestating in the galaxy’s Unknown Regions and storming back to spread a fresh wave of violence and terror, the First Order relied on the agile TIE fighter just as its predecessors had. The ruthless pilots of these instruments of airborne firepower are recognized by the New Zealand Mint with the 2022 Niue The Faces of the First Order TIE Fighter Pilot Shaped 1 oz Silver Coin, now available from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
The 2022 Niue The Faces of the First Order TIE Fighter Pilot Shaped Silver Coin features high-relief artwork and subtle colorization. Provident Metals tracks and fully insures each and every shipment against damage or loss. Each coin comes in aStar Wars-branded display box, along with a Certificate of Authenticity that specifies its unique number in the mintage.
Obverse
The obverse side features an effigy of the late Queen Elizabeth II to confirm it as legal tender of Niue Island. This is surrounded by the inscriptions “Elizabeth II,” “Niue,” “Two Dollars,” and “2022,” and accompanied by the copyright and trademark of Lucasfilm as well as confirmation of the coin’s silver content.
Reverse
The forbidding black helmets of the Galactic Empire’s TIE Fighter Pilots made them a famous part of the forces of evil in the original film trilogy, and the First Order design that forms the reverse of this coin is both slightly varied but chillingly similar.
History
The sequels to George Lucas’ iconic original trilogy ofStar Warsfilms provided a vivid and contemporary feel for the movies’ exploration of the nature of evil. These films found a new generation of heroes pitted against the terrible might of the First Order, invading the galaxy from its Unknown Regions and bent on wreaking even great havoc than the previous Galactic Emperor. The TIE Fighter Pilots featured in this collectible perfectly encapsulate the menace of the Order.
