{{/presale}}Obi-Wan Kenobiwas a hit miniseries on streaming services in large part because of the new characters it brought to the Star Wars universe. A standout case was the nuanced antagonist Reva Sevander, a junior Inquisitor of spectacular talent determined to climb the ranks of the evil Galactic Empire by capturing one of its most famous enemies, the Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi. Benefiting from a compelling performance from Moses Ingram, Reva’s role is commemorated by the 2022 Niue Chibi Star Wars Reva Shaped 1 oz Silver Coin.
Highlights:
The 2022 Niue Chibi Star Wars Reva Shaped Silver Coin features Reva in a colorized pure silver shaped sculpture. It comes fully insured by the Provident Metals team in a themed display case, with a Certificate of Authenticity that identifies its unique number in this limited mintage.
Obverse
Despite its unusual shape, the coin is legal tender, confirmed by the famous Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of the late Queen Elizabeth II featured on its obverse side. This is accompanied by inscriptions of the Queen’s name and the issuing country of Niue, along with its year and face value and a confirmation of the coin’s silver content.
Reverse
The reverse side is a colorized sculpture of Reva in the “big head” caricature Chibi style. She wears a signature cornrowed hairstyle and the black armor of an Inquisitor.
History
For decades, the Star Wars franchise has secured its place as one of the great juggernauts in entertainment and popular culture by being able to consistently expand the galaxy far, far away with new content and compelling characters. The New Zealand Mint’s Star Wars series of collectibles consistently celebrates some of the most crowd-pleasing additions to the franchise, many of which have occurred in recent streaming shows and miniseries. One of the most vivid characters to emerge from theObi-Wan Kenobiminiseries was the complicated and driven antagonist Reva Sevander, a fanatically determined and intuitive Inquisitor tasked with hunting Jedi Knights for her evil master Darth Vader. Her compelling arc in that miniseries made her a natural subject for a pure silver collectible in the Chibi Star Wars coin series.
