{{/presale}}Introduced in 1982, the Mexican Libertad Silver Coin Series is one of the worlds longest-running silver collections. In fact, it is easy to overlook the fact that the Mexican Libertad 1 oz Silver Coin was the first modern bullion coin available to investors, following in the footsteps of gold bullion coin programs from the South African Mint and Royal Canadian Mint. Provident Metals now has 2022 Mexican Libertad 1 oz Silver Coins available to purchase online.
Highlights:
When you purchase the 2022 Mexican Libertad 1 oz Silver Coin online at Provident Metals, you will receive a coin that comes with an individual protective flip. The coins in this listing are Brilliant Uncirculated specimens from the Mexican Mint.
Obverse
On the obverse of the 2022 Mexican Libertad Silver Coin from the Mexican Mint, you will find the coat of arms of Mexico. The design element on the coin’s obverse features a Mexican golden eagle in left-profile relief struggling with a serpent that it is battling using its beak and talons. The field also includes 10 historic versions of the national coat of arms. The only inscription on this field of the coin is the national name of ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS.
Reverse
The reverse face of 2022 Mexican Libertad 1 oz Silver Coins comes with an image of Winged Victory. This design is based on the broader Mexican Independence Victory Column. The statue of Winged Liberty that tops it was sculpted in 1910 to mark the centennial of the start of its independence movement, while the monument upon which it sits was created in 1921 to honor the 100th anniversary of the end of the struggle. Inscriptions on this face read 1 ONZA, PLATA PURA, 2022 LEY .999, and the OM mint mark of the Mexican Mint.
History
Libertad 1 oz Silver Coins have varying mintages each year based on demand for silver coins. Recent high mintage marks in this series came in 2009 and 2016 as the world dealt with the fallout from the Great Recession and political turmoil in Europe, respectively. The recent COVID-19 pandemics impact on economies around the world has driven renewed demand.
