{{/presale}}Gilded coins are an excellent way to own the worlds two favorite precious metals in one product. Each year, the Canadian Maple Leaf Silver BU Coin is available from third-party dealers with an added application of 24-karat gold on select design elements. Today, you have the chance to get 2022 Canadian Maple Leaf 1 oz Silver Coins online at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
Each of the Canadian Maple Leaf Silver Coins available here is whats known as a gilded coin. A gilded coin is a silver bullion specimen with a thin layer of 24-karat gold applied. This application is often limited to a select design element and is done more in the interest of creating visual contrast within the design element than it is to boost the precious metals content of the coin. The layer of gold applied to the coin is incredibly thin.
Obverse
On the obverse of 2022 Canadian Maple Leaf 1 oz Silver Coins in this listing, you will find the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is featured here in right-profile relief in a design that was created in 2003 by Susanna Blunt. This design is the fourth-generation effigy of Queen Elizabeth II for Canadian coins and is just the second to be created by a Canadian artist. Inscriptions include ELIZABETH II, 5 DOLLARS, and 2022.
Reverse
The reverse side of the 2022 Canadian Maple Leaf Silver Gilded Coin features the famous sugar maple leaf design. Created in 1979 by Walter Ott, this beautiful image captures the natural splendor of the sugar maple leaf. In this release, the sugar maple leaf is layered with 24-karat gold to create stunning visual contrast. The inscriptions on this face of the coin read CANADA, 9999, FINE SILVER, and 1 OZ ARGENT PUR. This face of the coin also has the laser-engraved maple leaf privy mark.
History
Canadian Maple Leaf Silver Coins have been available from the Royal Canadian Mint since 1988. The coin was the first .9999 pure silver coin available to investors and can be purchased each year in BU condition from the mint, as well as with gilded or colorized applications completed by third-party groups after release from the mint.
