{{/presale}}In 2019, the Royal Mint introduced an exciting new coin collection that offered images of the monarchy in England. The Royal Arms of England is a seal representing both the reigning monarch and the realm itself. The first-ever Royal Arms was adopted in 1198 and the majority of the current design was adopted in 1837. Provident Metals now has 2022 British Royal Arms 1 oz Gold Coins available to you for purchase online.

Obverse
Queen Elizabeth II graces the obverse of 2022 British Royal Arms Gold Coins. This 2015 design from Jody Clark shows the Queen wearing the George IV State Diadem Crown and depicts the monarch at the age of 89. This bust of Her Majesty is set against a background field with a guilloche pattern and includes inscriptions of 100 POUNDS, ELIZABETH II, and D.G. REG F.D.
Reverse
In the reverse design of 2022 British Royal Arms 1 oz Gold Coins, the Royal Mint offers a work of art from Timothy Noad. This vision of the Royal Arms of England includes a quartered shield with the Three Lions of England in the first and fourth quadrants, the Lion of Scotland in the second quadrant, and the Trinity College harp in the third quadrant as a representative of Northern Ireland. The field includes radial lines in the background, an Imperial Crown above the shield, the Lion of England on the left, the Unicorn of Scotland on the right, and inscriptions of 2022 and 1 OZ FINE GOLD 999.9.
History
Over the centuries, the exact image of the Royal Arms has changed with the times, matching both the monarch on the throne and the expansion or contraction of the realm. The modern seal was adopted in 1837 and saw the Hanoverian arms dropped from the center when Queen Victoria ascended the throne. In 1952, the harp representing Northern Ireland was changed from the Irish Harp to the Trinity College harp.
