Obverse
The obverse of the 2022 Australian Sea Turtle Gold Coin includes the sixth-generation bust of Queen Elizabeth II. This effigy, created by Jody Clark in 2015 for The Royal Mint, began appearing on Australian coins in 2018. It captures the Queen at age 89, adorned with the George IV State Diadem Crown. The inscriptions here read ELIZABETH II, AUSTRALIA, 1/4 OZ 9999 AU, 2022, and 25 DOLLARS.
Reverse
On the reverse, the 2022 Sea Turtle 1/4 oz Gold Coin shows a right-facing image of a sea turtle. These turtles are critical to maintaining Australias marine habitats.
