Obverse
Queen Elizabeth II features on the obverse side of 2022 Mother & Baby Dingo 2 oz Silver Coins. This design comes from Jody Clark and was created in 2015 for the Royal Mint. The sixth-generation effigy to feature on Australian coins, it shows Elizabeth II at the age of 89 with the George IV State Diadem on her head. The field includes radial lines in the background and inscriptions of ELIZABETH II, AUSTRALIA, 2 OZ 9999 AG, 2022, and 2 DOLLARS.
Reverse
In the reverse design of the 2022 Australian Dingo 2 oz Silver Coin, you will find a pairing of a mother dingo with its young pup. The two are seated facing one another with radial lines also featured in the background field on this side. There is also a micro-laser engraving on this side with a single letter that is only visible under magnification.
History
The first British colonists to encounter the dingoes were those who settled Port Jackson in 1788. At the time, these settlers found the dingoes living with Aboriginal Australians and assumed the animals were domesticated by the Aboriginals.
