{{/presale}}Few coin collections in the world are as popular and coveted as the Lunar Series III coins from Perth Mint. In 1996, Perth Mint introduced the first lunar-themed coin collection with distinct designs for silver and gold coins honoring the animals of the Zodiac. Now on its third series of lunar coins, Perth Mint continues to dazzle with new designs for each collection with a release schedule that follows the exact 12-year cycle of the Zodiac. Provident Metals now has 2022 Australian Lunar Tiger 1 Kilo Silver Coins available to you for purchase online.
Highlights:
When you purchase one of these 2022 Australian Lunar Tiger 1 Kilo Silver Coins online at Provident Metals, you will receive a coin that is packaged individually in a protective capsule for delivery. The 1 kilo coin has an unlimited mintage for 2022, which means the Perth Mint will continue to strike the coins through the end of the year before retiring the image to move on to the next release in the series.
Obverse
The obverse of 2022 Australian Lunar Tiger Silver Coins comes with the sixth-generation portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Englands longest-reigning monarch is shown here at the age of 89 with the George IV State Diadem Crown on her head. This portrait was created for the Royal Mint by Jody Clark in 2015 and came to Australian coins starting in 2018. The inscriptions on this face of the coin read ELIZABETH II, AUSTRALIA, 1 KILO 9999 AG, and 30 DOLLARS.
Reverse
On the reverse side of 2022 Australian Lunar Tiger 1 Kilo Silver Coins is a tiger family. In this design, an adult tiger is shown with its head up and a focused gaze as it leads its young, playful tiger cub along the rocks of the jungle. The design element includes inscriptions of the Chinese symbol for a tiger, TIGER 2022, and the P mint mark of the Perth Mint.
History
The Lunar Series collections at Perth Mint always have one thing in common: order. The Zodiac follows a 12-year cycle with the same animals appearing in the same order each time. This starts with the Year of the Mouse and ends with the Year of the Pig. The Year of the Tiger is third in the 12-year cycle. Each Perth Mint Lunar Series has started in the Year of the Mouse and concluded in the Year of the Pig.
