{{/presale}}In 2021, the United States Mint took the American Eagle Gold Coin in a brand-new direction with the introduction of a new design on the reverse. However, the 2021 release was split between the first and second half of the year. Coins issued from January to June featured the original reverse design, while coins issued from July onward featured the new bald eagle design. As of the 2022 release, the series is now focused on the new design from Jennie Norris. Provident Metals currently has 2022 American Eagle 1 oz Gold Coins available to purchase online in near-perfect condition.
Highlights:
When you purchase these 2022 American Eagle 1 oz Gold Coins from Provident Metals, you will receive a coin that is in near-perfect condition. The NGC assigns a Mint State 69 grade to coins that showcase full, original mint luster with no more than two minor detractions present. Acceptable flaws at this grade level include only minuscule contact marks or hairlines and these flaws must be located outside of the primary focal points of the coin. Early Release coins are those the NGC receives for grading within 30 days of release from the US Mint.
Obverse
The obverse of 2022 American Eagle Gold Coins comes with a depiction of Lady Liberty from Augustus Saint-Gaudens. Designed in 1907, it featured on the $20 Double Eagle Gold Coin from the US Mint from 1907 to 1933. The design shows Liberty in front-facing relief with rays of sun behind her figure and a ring of 50 stars around the field. The inscriptions include LIBERTY and 2022.
Reverse
On the reverse side of 2022 American Eagle 1 oz Gold Coins is the new bald eagle design from Jennie Norris. This depiction shows the head of the bald eagle in left-profile relief and comes with inscriptions of UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, IN GOD WE TRUST, 1 OZ. FINE GOLD, and 50 DOLLARS.
History
The new reverse design that debuted in 2021 now takes center stage in 2022 as the official reverse design for the series going forward. It was submitted by Jennie Norris, a member of the US Mint Artistic Infusion Program.
